Carolina PaulonCertified Doula
My journey with birth began in 2013 as a filmmaker when filming a documentary on a public maternity center in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil where I am originally from. I completed my first doula training on Kauai with Barbara Essman in 2015 and was called to support families through their journey with pregnancy and birth. I early on realized the importance of women being fully supported and in charge of her own birthing experience, and how being prepared and educated prior to birth can significantly change one’s birthing experience.
Two years and a few births later I birthed my first baby in the comfort of my home & with the support of two amazing doulas who gave me so much love thru this process and contributed so much to my sweet memories of this day. I am very passionate about pregnancy and birth and I believe every family should have a respectful and gentle experience before, during and after labor.
Besides attending home and hospital births as a doula, I am a student midwife currently enrolled with NCM and under preceptorship on Kauai where I live with my beautiful son Noah and my loving partner Jon.
